Tek is a problem. Something went wrong somewhere along the way, and Tek fell away from all of the lofty and noble ideals that his kind were created to uphold. So, now he's a fickle, hedonistic, self-serving prick more often than not. How cruel or kind he is on any given day, whether he cooperates or sabotages, all depends on a complicated system of nebulously-defined balances in his head. Though his whims often seem devoid of meaning or direction, it's all to spite the fact that he was created for something "better." By living entirely for himself, whatever that means at the time, his life serves as one big cosmic spit-in-the-face toward his maker. He has soft spots and morals in there somewhere, but they're often too hidden to matter.
appearance ▼
Tek is absurdly pretty--in the sense that it seems too contrived to be natural, and Tek enjoys this fact. He is a shapeshifter, so he has worked hard to refine his human face into exactly what he wants, forgoing the natural look for just straight-up obnoxious beauty. Whether others are attracted or repulsed by it, he couldn't care less. He always dresses well: black with highlights of purple or pink to match his eyes, complete with laquered nails and tasteful touches of cosmetics. Almost always wears heeled boots (putting him a couple inches taller than his natural height of 5'9") and favors fitted, semi-femme jackets even in his male form.
His kin are naturally hermaphroditic and culturally tend to take on female or androgynous personas, so of course Tek is going to go against the norm by preferring to portray himself as (almost) entirely male. When not wearing this favorite mask of his, he can freely mix-and-match features all along the spectrum of gender presentation and sexual characteristics. Alongside this, there are varying levels of human "mask" to cover up some of the more monstrous features he would have otherwise. The malleability of this mask, however, means that snaps of high emotion can cause it to fail.
When not confining himself to human shape, his true form is that of a massive, cadaverous-looking dragon, with a third option being a monstrous shape that lies halfway between the two. Whatever form he decides to take, there is always a tattoo carved under both eyes: a simple black line that runs along the edge of his lower lid and ends in a cute little curl.

abilities ▼
Tek is a nearly-nine-hundred-year-old dragon, so he has an unfair list of abilities. The short version is that his bloodline are conduits of death energy--which is one of ten natural elements in his world--and are tapped into the realms of Fate. Dragons are generally better than mortals at most things even when in human shape, and are considered immortal unless killed (aside from the cases in which not even that will stop them for long). They have natural resistances to magic, and Tek's bloodline in particular are immune to disease, poison, and acid damage. This also means that the poor guy can't get drunk.
Abilities that are powered by life energy, or are meant to "unmake" or corrupt magical energy, can be especially damaging to him.
