[Attached is the following picture, snapped and compressed and sent to Tek's device.]
[And a text message!]
Tek,
Let me know which setting you prefer. The first setting has room for a small accompanying gem, like a diamond or something. If you would rather have something plainer then there is the second one.
[between Tek's general laziness, recent habit of dozing for weeks at a time... and the time that he takes in picking over the details of the whole image (not only of the design itself), Hiccup doesn't receive a reply for quite some time.
and when he does receive an answer, the message is deceptively brief.]
Yes, this seems to be the sort of thing I had been envisioning. I do prefer the first setting. How soon can you begin work?
[Cole conveniently docked the Pathstone with the Blue Fish, so Beverly takes advantage of Cole's wanderings to come talk to Tek. You know, about that whole being a dragon thing. He ought to know that she knows, right? It is the first time she has been on his ship, and isn't exactly certain where to find him, but his "office" seems as good of a place to start as any. She will knock softly on the door.]
[there's a delay before he answers, but he's much less inclined to care about the fact that he's currently dozing in his nest than he might have otherwise, considering what their last interaction had been. this isn't a terribly distant leap from that. so, after that little hesitation, she gets a sleepy sounding "Come in," and he doesn't bother getting up to great her.
his 'office' is really just a glorified bedroom, with a criminally comfortable-looking nest of blankets and pillows covering what must have originally been a bed, taking up the majority of the room. and he's mostly buried in the middle of it, only lifting his head enough to peer over at her when she enters.]
[After the attack, after Jove has checked on each of their crewmates, she seeks out Tek and isn't entirely surprised to find him glowering into space as though the power of his annoyance alone could solve all their problems. When she comes up beside him, she lays a gentle hand on his back and looks out the window too.]
[The message had been a touch strange, and JUST about interesting enough to get Crowley from doing whatever inane thing he was preoccupied with before (probably sleeping) and head to the waystation.
Once there, he wanders around to where Tek said to meet him, this better be GOOD. ]
[as soon as Crowley arrives, it won't take long to figure out that something strange is going on. the place is silent--not a single out soul seems to be docked nearby, and no one seems to be browsing the meager wares of the station. these places aren't ever exactly bustling, but usually there is someone else within sight after a little searching. but the air is quiet and still here, and charged with tense energy coming from something.
whenever Crowley makes it to the plastic park in the center of the station, there is where he will finally find Tek.
the dragon is in the dead center of the space, sitting on the back of one of the benches, with his feet on the seat--perched nice and high so he can be seen from a distance. his back is to the demon, shoulders hunched with his elbows propped on his knees, seemingly waiting.]
[he does his best to minimize the damage on Beverly's end, but he knows that Tek isn't going to wait forever. he hurries back to the station proper as soon as he thinks he can manage, and starts searching for his ticking time-bomb of a friend.
...which he thought would be much easier than it is. he's got to be around somewhere, right? where the fuck does this guy have to hide?]
[well, he had a few chores to take care of first. as Robin searches around, he might notice that the sleepy station is even more quiet and empty than it had been before. it's as if someone has systematically gone around and 'encouraged' every single straggler to depart from the station.
and it's only once the place is absolutely empty that Tek reappears, strolling back from one of the docking areas and heading toward the park.]
[his aura prickles up at the appearance of the spirit, before he unconsciously draws his energy closer around himself. it's a defensive move, maybe, but an unconscious one.
he spiritually pulls himself together, but he doesn't turn to actually glance over at Cole until the last second. and he looks at the bottle, but doesn't reach for it.]
